Short Story
So, I'm writing a short story and this is what I have of it so far. If you have any suggestions, comment to let me know! Thanks!!
* * * * * * *
The floor creaked as Liz walked down the stairs of the old abandoned house. Old, yellowing pictures of people long forgotten lined the wall of the stairs that led down to the basement. When Liz reached the bottom of the stairs, she had the feeling that she wasn’t alone. Cracks in the decaying boards covering the empty holes where windows once stood, were allowing patches of milky moon light to cast shadows across the room.
Liz switched on her flashlight and cautiously walked into the vast room that made up a large portion of the house’s basement. A layer of dust covered everything that Liz could see. She searched the room and found nothing of worth, so she continued deeper into the basement.
As Liz crept down the hallway, she heard a door creak from behind her. Liz whirled around, her heart pounding in her chest, and saw nothing. Ok, Liz thought. That was just the wind coming in through the windows. Liz waited until her heart had slowed down to a normal pace, to continue walking down the hallway.
When Liz reached the next door that led off of the hallway, she turned to grab the doorknob and open the door. As Liz was reaching for the knob, she felt a cold chill on the back of her neck. Liz froze, with her hand halfway reached out, and slowly turned around. A long, dark shadow, in the shape of a man, was stretched along the length of the hallway. Liz squeezed her eyes closed and told herself that she was seeing things, that she was alone down there, that no one else was in the house but her.

Lemon Bars
How to make gooey lemon bars that make your mouth water.
Preheat oven to 325.
Crust:
1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup flour
The first thing you do when baking lemon bars is to make the crust. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar.Once the butter and sugar are creamed together, add 1 cup flour. Spread across 8x8 inch pan. Make sure that you cover the entire bottom of the pan and that the mixture is pressed down. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
While the crust is in the oven, prepare the filling.
Filling:
2 eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbs. flour
2 Tbs. lemon juice
Beat the eggs in a medium sized bowl. Add the sugar, flour and lemon juice. If you want your lemon bars really sour, add a few more drops of lemon juice. Mix well and pour over the crust immediately after removing it from the oven. Put the lemon bars in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Let the lemon bars cool, sprinkle a little bit of powdered sugar on top and enjoy!

Your Purpose
Who am I?
What was I born to do?
These are two questions that haunt the back of every body's mind. Everyone wants to know what their purpose is in life and why they're doing what they're doing.
These questions are very hard to answer because nobody can answer those questions but you. You have to figure out who you are and what you're born to do. You are the only one that knows what goes on inside your head. You are the only person that can answer these questions for yourself.
But how do you figure out who you are and what you're born to do?
This is an excellent question. I find that if you try doing things that are outside you usual routine, you will find some kind of answer. It might not be the answer that you expected. Tyring things that are different to you can really open up your perspective. You caould try playing a different sport, painting instead of sketching, reading historical fiction instead of fantasy. Trying these little differences in your daily routine will answer your questions.

Talents
Everyone has different talents and weak points. One person might be very gifted when it comes to academics but has no coordination. Another person might be a five-star athlete but can't carry a tune. Someone else might be an amazing singer but is a little socially awkward. Everyone is unique and is good at things that other people aren't. These talents are what make us special and set us apart from everyone else.
Sometimes you might think that you don't have any talents because you can't show anything at a talent show. But not every talent is something that you can put up on display. You might be great at listening to others, making people feel welcome when their around you, keeping yourself focused, and so many other things.
Whatever your talent may be, you have to pursue it. The people who are truly amazing at something and are famous for what they do are the ones that work the hardest. You can't expect greatness for your talent if you don't pursue it and make it even better.
“Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work.”
― Stephen King
“Everyone has talent. What's rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads.”
― Erica Jong
You have to be willing to follow your talent in order to have greatness. :)

Laughter
"The most wasted of all days is one with out laughter".
-E.E. Cummings
A day without laughter isn't really a day at all. When you laugh, it makes life seem not as hard and dark. Laughter is the all time best medicine there is. :)
"The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem".
-Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Carribean)
If you have a negitive attitude about a problem that you have, then your problem is going to feel heavier. If you have a positive attitude and tell yourself that you are going to get through your problem then your problem will fell a little bit lighter.

Hmmmmm.......... well my perfect day would evolve around mountain biking and just about anything outside. Being outside is a wonderful feeling and spending an entire day just being outside in warm weather doing what I love to do is what I consider to be a perfect day.
